    OTHER ATTRACTIONS

Here we feature some lesser known businesses which we think will really add to your holiday or short break here in the Highlands of Scotland

    Waltzing Waters
The world's most elaborate water, light and music production. 'It's like nothing you've ever seen before ... a triumph of artistry and engineering'.

Visitors are overwhelmed by thousands of dazzling patterns of moving water synchronized with music in spectacular fashion.

The very first of it's kind in Europe, a completely different set of musical selections is provided on each day of the week, with something for all tastes and ages.

    RSPB Insh Marshes Nature Reserve
This is one of the most important wetlands in Europe. In spring, lapwings, redshanks and curlews nest here. In winter, the marshes flood, providing roosting and feeding for flocks of whooper swans and greylag geese.

The best time to visit is between November and June. The Insh Marshes are located on Speyside between Kingussie and Loch Insh and the reserve car-park is entered off the B970 between Kingussie and Insh village. There are hides overlooking the marshes and woodland trails giving excellent views over the reserve which can also be viewed from the B970 and B9152 roads.

    Shinty
Kingussie are one of the game of shin ty’s premier clubs and have been the most influential and successful of recent years. Unfortunately there are no records of their early period, but they rank amongst the most illustrious names in the game.

The Kingussie Club played a crucial role in the development of the Camanachd Association which was formed in the village in 1893. They also have a unique link with the Camanachd Cup as the figure at the top of the trophy was modelled on J.C. Dallas, vice-captain of the first team to win the trophy in the first Final which was played at The Longman, Inverness in 1896.

Kingussie have used The Dell as their home field for many years and it has recently been refurbished.
