ABOUT US

This grand house was built in 1884, originally as the Manse for Kingussie's Free Presbyterian Church. Funds were provided by a local man, George Ross Mackenzie, who emigrated to the USA and found fortune, becoming president of the Singer Sewing Machine Company. Converted to a Hotel in the 1960s, it has been completely refurbished throughout to very high standards of comfort.

There was a change of ownership at the Scot House Hotel in 2005. Paul and Kathy Simpson have acquired the hotel with the intention of placing it back where it belongs - at the centre of Kingussie hospitality - under the management of Paul's parents, Colin and Helen Wilkins. Exciting new changes are being implemented, including special offers for short breaks, holiday weekends and more. The newest member of the team, Head Chef Mark Carswell, is creating new menus to take full advantage of the superb meat, fish, game and other produce of the Highlands.
